the field of magic
there are two large empty fields near my apartment. every once in a while, i notice that the grasses are tall and wild and gorgeous. i make a mental note to go back someday with my camera. alas, i usually forget, and then they mow the fields.
this past week, when i saw that one field was still wild while the other field was mowed down, i walked atlas right back home, got my camera, and we walked out the door and to the field immediately.
it was full of enchantment.

I hope you and Atlas were very careful and did not step on any fairies. I have a granddaughter who would be very upset if you did.
Never fear. I announce our presence – and ask them to watch out for Atlas, because he does not know how to be careful. (Though he didn’t actually go in the field. It was hot and somewhat prickly so he snuck away from me and went to hide under a tree.)
He knows not to anger the fairies.
Can just feel the magic of this place… so glad you took us with you, Elizabeth. :o) ((HUGS))
And you have captured that enchantment very well….. (Atlas is a smart pup – it looks like the kind of spot that could have foxtails, which seem to love the paws and ears of unsuspecting pups)
Are foxtails those little tiny burr-like things? If so, they are indeed there. Thank you for the reminder of sensitive ears/paws. I will not make him go in there with me! If he goes in on his own, however, that is another matter.
