there is a blackbird in my breast
and a bluebird in my ear

each one is whispering secrets
the other one can’t hear

  1. Ahhh, that’s beautiful. Thank you.

The blackbirds in my backyard call sweetly every afternoon and into the dusk – such a very beautiful song they have.

I am in love with blackbirds. I sculpt tiny ones for necklace pendants. I’ll be posting about my love for them in the near future. So, I consider this a timely reminder indeed.

    Great minds, methinks :)

  2. This is so charming, Elizabeth… I can almost hear the sweet bird chatter. The images of birds and their symbolism has long meant a lot to me. Happy Days :o) ((HUGS))

here where i live they are considered merely the “nuisance” bird.
    can you imagine that?
they are beautiful to me. and i love the way they ‘visit’ when they’re all in the trees or on the ground feeding.
they line our telephone wires at intersections! looking down at the traffic.
i’ve always wondered if there are vibrations in the wires that tickle their feet.
