the omg brownie
it’s hard not to like a grocery store that makes me pull out my camera. is this not gorgeous?!
this is the newport avenue market in bend. if you are in bend, you should stop there. their sushi selection was amazing. also, the sushi chef was the most enthusiastic person ever. i wanted to buy some sushi just to support what was clearly his passion and art.
the other reason i liked it? they had this brownie on a table right by the entrance. it was called the omg brownie. in my opinion, if you are going to name your brownie the omg brownie, it needs to inspire that reaction. guess what happened. when i saw it – before i saw the name – i let out an involuntary and audible omg, which is something i don’t often say.

That’s a grocery story?! They know how to artfully display the goods there…WOW! But I want to know too, where’s a pic of the OMG brownie? ;o) I’ve not baked brownies in a while…must remedy! Happy Weekend, Elizabeth ((HUGS))
I misssssss chocolate. I stopped eating it since it makes Cedar antsy after he nurses. But soon, soon I will eat it once more, when he’s a little older. Brownies, especially omg brownies, might be on the top of my list (closely followed by peanut butter m&m’s).
so cool! i hope you tried the omg brownie?!
I’m wondering the same thing. How *was* the omg brownie?!
tracy: i realized it was rather remiss of me not to include a picture *after* i posted it! but by then, it was half-eaten and rather messy looking. 😉
brooke: silly cedar. he should know that chocolate is calming and soothing! i love pb m&ms too. though my favorite is the peanut ones.
helen, julie: i did! i went back and forth about buying it but then i decided that if i went home without one, i would probably think about it forever. i will confess that it sounded better than it tasted – it was really rich and sweet. (two layers of cream cheese filling plus brownie plus it was dipped in a thick chocolate ganache plus icing and m&ms on top. did i mention it was sweet?)
How artful that produce looks! There are many things I miss about my dad and one of them is produce shopping together ~ he always took his time, selecting the freshest offerings and knowing what would be ripe on the very day he planned to prepare it.
And to find a omg brownie in the same spot is a major score!
