a dog’s delight
’tis the season for our hikes at the sandy river delta to begin!
atlas and i headed there for a hike (for me) and a run (for him) last tuesday and then again on sunday.
on tuesday, we met that little black dog. he (or possibly she, i can’t remember) was hilarious. he kept dropping that slobbery ball on the ground, lying down in front of it, and then staring at it. but if his person tried to get the ball to throw it, he would grab it and run away.
on sunday, we met another weimaraner. you can see him (or her) chasing atlas in one of the photos.
it’s such a great place for dogs. i have a feeling we will be heading there again tomorrow. plus, a tired dog is a happy dog. or is it a tired dog is a happy owner. probably both.

his picture went for a wilderness hike last weekend in the ozarks. my brother hiked a wilderness trail marathon for cancer charity.
i sent a ‘happy half-way-there message’ for him to read and i wrote it on one of the cards i’ve got from you with atlas’s picture.
he looks in the picture like he’s climbing a stone mountain the same color he is!

I’m not sure about the calendar. Have to ponder .. I think this year has been low on Nikon Atlas photos and high on iPhone Atlas photos, which don’t work as well for calendars.

i’ll just cut and paste his pictures onto a storebought one. LOL.

My cocker spaniel plays with toys like the little black dog. She gets really upset if I try to play with her toy with her!
