it’s time for a giveaway
(apparently atlas is getting ready to help.)
doesn't it feel like it's time for a giveaway? i can't remember when i did my last one, and it occurred to me that i am horribly negligent at celebrating any of my blogging milestones (for example: my blog turned one last july, my blog turned two this july, i wrote my 500th blog post over 100 blog posts ago, et cetera).
yes. it's definitely time for a giveaway.
if you want to enter, leave me a comment. i'll draw two or three names on friday evening and send each of the winners a set of postcards. i am so fond of postcards. they are such a lovely – and easy – way to let someone know you're thinking about them.
(i could use some new quotes so, if you want to share a favorite quote in your comment, i would very much enjoy reading it.)
friday edit: the random number generator picked michelle and kim. thanks, everyone, for playing! and just fyi, it's kim's birthday today, so do pop over and wish her a happy birthday!

Such fun…Thank you, Elizabeth! And Atlas! ;o) Rumi always has the insight to lift me when I need it.. here’s a fave quote:
“Let yourself be drawn by the stronger pull of what you truly love.”
― Rumi
*sigh*…I am being pulled daily, and it is close to me. Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
thanks Elizabeth for the great give away!
I haven’t had too many inspiring quotes lately- mostly things like “It’s a great day to die.” and “with your shield or on it” as the Spartans said. How about the one I learned in sixth great- for cult members who are kidnapped by family to be deprogramed- “Across for the hospital, down for death.” (how to slit your wrists.)
HA!
Can you tell I have been feeling pretty crappy lately?
Anne
“courage doesn’t always roar.
sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day that says…
i will try again tomorrow.”
i’m sorry i don’t know whom to give the credit.
but it’s one that has sustained me a lot.
i don’t know if you got my comment on how much
i was loving your notes and using them… and framing them! 2 trees on the bookcase 1 on my desk of atlas and 2 already used to send notes to people!
so yes! i’m excited about your next bunch.
selfishly hope i’m the one picked at random! lol. and even if i don’t win… you definitely have a happy customer who will be back.
cheers,
tammy j
i love your postcards, too. thanks for the opportunity of a giveaway!
here’s a quote/idea i’ve been loving lately:
rather than practicing (yoga/shiva nata/etc) to feel better, i am practicing (insert your choice) to simply feel.
it’s been a very interesting experiment. to just let what is here be here without wanting it fixed.
congrats on the mini milestones. i think we don’t give ourselves enough credit in general considering all we do/offer every day!!!
xo
I just heard this one from Thoreau, which reminded me of you and the flow theme: Dwell as near as possible to the channel in which your life flows.
And another that I’m really loving right now from Robert Frost: Something we were withholding made us weak until we found it was ourselves.
Yay for all the milestones and celebratory giveaway!
Like the sky opens after a rainy day we must open to ourselves…. Learn to love yourself for who you are and open so the world can see you shine. ~James Poland
Love postcards, and love your photos !
Thanks for the chance to win a giftie !
Love and light.
oh how I love your postcards, especially of Atlas. Congrats on you year aniversary and 500+( yowsa) posts!
your postcards look beautiful! Here’s a quote I’ve loved for a very long time:
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you
come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who
have come alive.” -Gil Bailie

i’d love a chance to win a set of your postcards. yay! and, here’s a quote i stumbled upon just today. it’s from alice walker:
“the most common way people give up their power is thinking they don’t have any.”
power is one of those things that brings up all sorts of discomfort in me (as does beauty for me also as per your post of today). thinking of your comments on beauty combined with this quote is making all sorts of interesting things happen in my brain.
I’ve got this quote from John Greenleaf Whittier written in dry erase marker on my bathroom mirror right now:
No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
I’ve also had bits Mary Oliver’s poem “Wild Geese” running through my head a lot the last couple of weeks. “You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”
Elizabeth,
“Breed a Boxer with a German Shorthaired Pointer and you get a Boxershorts. A dog never seen in public.”
From “Good Dog!” magazine
Oh, I’m liking erin’s Gil Bailie quote. Much more than I can come up with right now. I need to start jotting down the nice quotes I read and posting them right up on the bulletin board or on a postie on the monitor. Often times I read something I love, but before I can read it again to let it sink in, or to share it, it is gone back into the literary abyss from which it came. That’s the downside to reading so much online, and not bookmarking!
the random number generator picked michelle and kim! i’ll be sending you each an email!
thanks for all the great quotes! (ann, i am cracking up at yours.)
please enter my name in your draw. I love your photos and uplifting words.
